Monta Vista DECA

For Immediate Release

Important information for all Monta Vista DECA members, effectively immediately.

Introduction and Background

Monta Vista FBLA and Monta Vista DECA share similar goals and objectives in creating business education opportunities for Monta Vista students, as the two leading Career and Technical Organizations ("CTSOs") on campus.

Recently, DECA's Fashion Show and International Career Development Conference have placed a tremendous strain upon their financial accounts. In order to continue operation, DECA has offered preferred stock for sale to fund operations.

FBLA has agreed to acquire a majority share in the preferred stock of DECA, effectively enabling the acquisition of DECA by FBLA. Effective immediately, DECA will become a subsidiary of Monta Vista FBLA.

Officer Team Integration

Until the acquisition process is complete, FBLA has agreed to allow DECA to manage their own assets. Upon the finalization of acquisition, the management teams of both organizations shall be merged according to the chart below.

Monta Vista DECA will still be referred to as "DECA" in this document. All of DECA's assets, including computer software, textbooks, and preparation material, will be liquidated and are due back to the FBLA officer team tomorrow.

Impacts on Scheduled Events

Internationals (ICDC)
FBLA has decided that DECA's visit to ICDC will be modified, as to save costs. DECA will be flying RyanAir, a low-cost carrier, instead of US Airways and AirTran to Louisville. RyanAir is a high-quality, low-cost airline that provides excellent customer service and many in-flight amenities.

Since RyanAir has a few policies that are very different from the typical airlines you use, you may want to view this video to ensure a smooth, hassle-free flight.

Fashion Show
Effective immediately, the fashion show has been cancelled. Due to DECA's financial situation, we are unable to issue refunds for your tickets. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
