Why you Joined DECA: Like any freshman, I joined DECA to get some extra credit in Schmidt's class, and it worked. But on top of that I found that I was part of a great club: really cool people, awesome trips, WINNING at conferences, and unforgettable experiences. DECA's a blast; there's something for everyone here.

Why you Joined DECA: Honestly, my parents made me take Principles of Business. I thought it was going to be a boring class that I'd hate, and so I joined DECA because I heard about the extra credit. I'm glad I chose DECA, since I ended up having an AWESOME time [winning!] at conferences and at DE's activities in general.

Why you Joined DECA: I was in FBLA's Middle Level chapter at Kennedy Middle School in their first half year of operation, and it SUCKED (sorry FBLA). Nothing got done, and organization was very poor. I was very annoyed and began missing meetings, and when I got to Monta Vista, I jumped to DECA as a replacement for FBLA.

Hobbies/Interests: Typically, I like DECA, piano, church, volunteering with kids, scheming, going online, and hanging out with buds :) I'm also a fan of classical (romantic) music and general instrumentals, Elmo, Red Mango, unweighted 4.0's, House, Phineas and Ferb, and dancing to nonexistent music.
Why you Joined DECA: Back when I was a graduating 8th grader, I couldn't wait for high school to start and began considering the various clubs I could join. I decided to try DECA, because I figured that business and marketing would probably be an important concept for me to learn--not to mention that everybody else was totally enthusiastic and excited about it. In the end, I found DECA to be super fun and totally worth it!

Hobbies/Interests: DECA, music, tennis, piling up on extracurriculars, movie marathons, baking, obsessive scheduling, laughing at corny jokes and Stephen Colbert, and of course, spending countless hours with my awesome friends. <3
Why you Joined DECA: Well, like Japheth, I was once an FBLA member. Then, in Principles of Business, I found out that business clubs had a monstrous amount of extra credit to offer for Mr. Schmidt's class. However, so many of my friends joined DECA that I decided to give it a shot after I heard how awesome NorCal was. I immediately found out that both the DECA competitive structure and social atmosphere were a lot more appealing to me than FBLA. From then on, it was States, Internationals, and so many memorable moments both on-stage and off with fellow DECAers that there was no way I could leave. <3
